About me
Hi, I’m Hanna, I’m the girl behind Plans and Passports.
I’m a Budapest local who’s been traveling for as long as I can remember. My Erasmus semester in Paris just poured fuel on the fire, six months of exploring the city and taking every student day trip I could, from Giverny and Étretat to Bruges. Since then I’ve been steadily maxing out Europe: Italy (Milan, Rome, Florence, Lake Como), Nice, Barcelona, Mallorca, Amsterdam, Vienna, and plenty in between.
Here’s what makes this blog different: I travel like a student, because I am one. Luxury trips aren’t in the budget, so I’ve gotten really good at stretching every euro, packing light, knowing what’s actually worth it, and making a short, affordable trip feel like a big adventure.
The idea for Plans and Passports actually started in Paris. I met so many exchange students from Mexico, the US, and Brazil who had never been to Europe, and they always asked me the same things: What’s worth seeing? How many days do I need? I loved helping them figure it out, and being an ESN volunteer and tandem buddy back home in Budapest only made me love it more. So I thought: why not help everyone else too?
That’s what you’ll find here, honest, budget-friendly travel tips: how to pack light, what’s genuinely worth bringing, and how to get the most out of every trip. Grab your passport, let’s plan something.
